92 honda accord lx I have a hole in the exhaust pipe between the catalytic converter and muffler. is this urgent repair? could I just patch, and how temporary are patches? looks like the pipes are welded on this older moldel (or just really rusted)... if i need to replace should I simply cut out section with hole and replace and clamp?

Your best bet is to just take it to an exhaust shop and let them fix it. They can fix it cheaper than you and do a much better job. You can't patch it but you can replace just a section sometimes. It often has to be cut and welded so it's not a DIY type job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
