instrument panel gauges dont work Sign In

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado
2WD
Inline 6, 4.0L

All my instrument gauges will no longer work. They all worked fine and then stopped working at the same time. pulled cercuit board out and put back in in hopes it was jared loose. Not the case, it was connected securlly. Not sure if there is a certain relay that could have went bad or even how to check to see if the relay is working. All fuses look good. Anyone have suggestion it would be greatly appreciated.

these chrysler circuit board are pricey. If you've ruled out fuse, try this; take the circuit board to an electronics shop or a tech school that has an electronics class. I work on a lot of 96-00 caravans with the same type dash. There is a capacitor in it that is about a buck and a quarter that if it fails kills the whole thing. Anyone handy with electronics can fix this one cheap. Don't get a salvage unit. They are crap. I tried that route before I met a guy that does computer repair for a living. Once he showed me how to fix it I've been bringing $370 boards alive again for $1.25 and 10 minutes of my time. Sounds nuts, but you pay for what you don't know. I'd put money on it being that capacitor if your fuses are ok. Post back with results. A lot of people read the archives and this could help them very much
