key won't go in ignition

Hello, I was driving my 2001 Ford Escape at lunch, made one stop and when I got back in a couple minutes later, the key would not go completely into the ignition. It goes in about half way. I tried tilting the steering wheel, locking/unlocking doors incase it was the alarm, and neither worked. It will allow other keys to go in all the way, but not the key that goes to the car. Anyone have any ideas?? There were no signs leading up to this - it has never done it before and had not been difficult to insert before today.

You are sure you have the correct key - right? Try spraying lock lube or a bit of WD-40 (a tad) and some on the key and try in upside down and up if double cut. It's hard to believe another key will go that isn't for this car?? T
