need brake help!!!

hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster, great forum you have here.
I need some help asap with my car...
2004 grand prix gt....i am having problems doing the back brakes, i removed the old pads old rotors and now the new pads won't over thee new rotors.
I really need some help, my car is up on blocks as i write this. I even got desparate enough to put the brakes back put they wont fit either...

when you put the pads on and assumming these are disc brakes perhaps you forgot to put the piston back in the caliper? if so there is a tool for it i dont know how much but i just use a block of wood and a c-clamp. put the wood between the clamp and the piston and tighten the c clamp so that the piston is back in the calpier and you should be good. dont tighten it too much though just make sure the piston gets piut back into the caliper and youll be fine.

You can't just use a "C clamp on the rear calipers. That pistong doesn't just push in, it has the parking brake built into it and it has to be threaded back in. There are a number of tools to accomplish this. Here are a couple of them.

Make sure you lined up the notches in the caliper pistons at 90degrees so they line up with the pins on the pads if they have them.
I assume you never opened the hydraulic system at all.

the pads didnt have the pins to line up.I did take the cap off the master cylinder...the pressure wouldnt allow me to push in the front piston

arent you supposed to open the reservoir to put them back? otherwise i believe it can damage the lines or seals.

Without being there to feel the pedal and examine the car, we can't know what's going on there or if there is any problem at all. It's normal for these pedals to feel spongy if your sitting still and pressing on the brake pedal but in reality, when in use, the car stops well before exerting that much pressure.
We can't know if something was done wrong without being there.
