Okay, this is a dumb question from a blonde -- my 2001 Intrepid has died - engine failure. I need to get an odometer reading for paperwork. Is there a way to get it when a car has no power? Can a car with no engine power take a jump to power on dash? Thanks for your help!

Provided everything is still intact....that is..the battery and cables are still connected properly....engine is still in vehicle. you should be able to connect jumper cables to it from another vehicle just to power up the dash..no need to try to crank it or anything...provided the battery is any good....may have to install a known good battery from another vehicle.
