overheating Sign In

1995 toyota camry..overheating..i had to replace..radiator..upper,lower hoses..water pump..timing chain..thermostat...1 year ago..it just started overheating again in hot weather...tried replacing thermostat again..still overheating..cooling fans working..any ideas what is wrong and the cost to fix..thanks

Which engine? Does it overheat while cruising, sitting at traffic lights, or both? Does the heater work when it is running hot?

2.2 4 cyl..runs cooler while driving..idling while stopped it gets hot...thermostat not opening up even though i tested the new one i put in..yes the heater is working

If the thermostat was stuck closed, the engine would overheat even while cruising.

You stated the fans were working. Did you check to see if they were working when the engine was overheating?

Just thoughts as it can run cooler at speed it seems. Are shrouds intact and any chance fan spins the wrong way?
