overheating intrepid Sign In

Just got a 97 dodge intrepid 3.5 and ita over heating even without the thermostat the radiator feel hotter in one side than the other
If someone has gone trough this I can help me thank you

If one of the radiator hoses is cool and one is hot then the radiator could be clogged.
Remove it and take it to a radiator shop and have them test it.

You cannot run today's vehicles without a thermostat. The thermostat is critical in engine management. There are many reasons a car can be overheating including internal issues that require in depth testing to diagnose. The radiator is supposed to be cooler on one side than the other if it's a cross flow radiator. That means the radiator is probably doing what it was designed to do and that is reduce the temp of the coolant.
