i have a 1996 jeep grand cherokee LTD.....problem is when i drive thru a puddle after a rain, the power steering appears to go "out" for a few seconds and the car becomes extremely difficult to turn.....the steering seems to return to normal about 12 seconds later any ideas what causes this and how to remedy?

Sounds like water is getting on the belt and letting the belt slip therefore not turning the pulley. I would suggest replacing the belt and clean the pulleys.
Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
