problem with intake manifold stay Sign In

i have a 97 eclipse rs the 420a motor and we have taken most everything apart to replace a blown head gasket. since the car is not on any lifts we are working really hard in such a small spaces, we have taken the upper intake off but as we have two bolts left on the lower intake, the manifold stay is the bolt i think we are having a trouble with, i can't figure out what size the bolt is a 5/8's semi worked but worried about the looseness of the socket that i might strip the bolt! and know it should be metric, i'm prob made this confussing and sorry but any ideas or helpful hints will help thanks drew

5/8s is so close to 16mm that either usually works unless the bolt is worn or very tight. Since you say there is a lot of loosen I would try a 15mm socket and see how that works for you...........
