I've been looking for some sort of free online repair manuals. The problem is that I tend to get stuck fixing all my buddies wrecks, which I don't mind doing, but I can't afford to go out and buy all the manuals I should have. I am r&r-ing the motor out of a friend's '02 intrepid and have been told that to do so without a hoist, you can take out the front end and pull the motor out the front. It's stuff like this I'd like to find out without doing it the hard way for once, you know?

Yes the motor does come out from under the hood. I just had a quick read through the procedure and there’s quite a bit that has to be removed to gain the room required to get the engine out. Some of the things were; hood, wiper arms, windshield cowl, strut tower brace, upper rad cross member, headlight jack screws(whatever they are), upper bumper fascia, rad and then more or less anything else that’s attached too or in the way of getting the engine out. The transaxle (transmission) does stay in “supported with floor jack” Dan. Canadian "EH"
