A secratary at the company i work for ran her 02 escalade out of gas. I agreed to come help get it running. I tried running the air out of the lines and am getting no pressure coming out of the injector rails. Someone told her that she may have burned up her fuel pump. Can anybody give me some advise? She needs her car for thanksgiving!

2 THINGS YOU COULD DO DID YOU CYCLE THE SWITCH ON AND OFF BEFOR YOU TRY STARTING THE ITIF NOT TRY TURNING YOUR SWITCH OFF FOR 4 SECONDS THEN ON TO THE RUN POSITION THEN BACK OFF FOR 4 MORE SECONDS DO THAT BOUT 5 TIMES IF THE PUMP IS GOOD IT WILL BRING UP PRESSURE IF NOT HIT THE GAS TANK WITH A RUBBER MALLET WITH GREAT FORCE WHILE SOME ONE IS CRANKING IT OVER AT THE SAME TIME GOOD LUCK I TRY THE FIRST THING I SAID FIRST

Fuel injected vehicles don't like running out of fuel. If you prime it and it may take a couple tries it will purge the air out and run. You should hear the buzz from the fuel pump with ignition on and the fuel pump should shut off when pressure is achieved. The pump has no brain and doesn't know what it is pumping, air water or fuel, T
