I repaced the sparkplugs in my '97 civic using a gap of .04". I used a socket wrench to tighten the plugs, not a torque wrench. The first time I started the engine it started fine. The next day I tried to start it, it would not. I tried loosing and tightening again, not as tight this time, still no good. I checked the gap, could be a bit oversize. How precise does the gap need to be? Is there anything else I should consider?

Recheck all of your connections that you removed when doing the job. If that don't work see if you have spark with a spark tester, or the back yard way with a old spark plug grounded to a good ground. -------------------------------------------------------- Your only as good as your tools!
