My geo prizm starts ok.
But not right when the key is turned.

How do i restore it so the car starts immediately when the key is turned.
The car is a geo prizm 1994.
In excelent condit, except for the above.

I have thought about it being related to,
RPM speed- mabe its not firing fast enough when the car starts? If i increase this slightly will the rpm fire faster at the moment of key turn? thus causing the car to start at the moment of key turn.

Sludg build up? possibly slowing the engine itself?

mabe it's a distributer issue? howver this is not a suspect to me. The distributer was installed by me at 100,000 miles and is strong. Calibrated and timed.

This car is in excelent condition just doesn't start at the moment of key turn.

I appreciate any information provided.Pirate

Try turning the key to"run" position, if quiet enough you'll hear the buzz of the fuel pump built up pressure then stop. Then go for start - if that solves the problem the car is not holding pressure between starts very well. That could be fuel injectors leaking down, low pressure of fuel. If not too anoying you may not want to make the investment unless you think that the car isn't going to start at all.

Sludge (if any) probably has nothing to do with it this situation,
