running rich Sign In

hi i have a 94 accord lx and recently put in a a/f gauge (narrowband) and about a week ago it started reading rich more often than not. now i know there are a ton of things that can cause this but heres the weird part. my car would sometimes rev (up to around2.5k) when idle. as soon as it went rich, it stopped doing this. any ideas on the cause and how to fix?

Here's an answer you may not like. Remove the a/f guage and see if the problem clears up. Powertrain modules don't like to be modified. The O2 sensor signal is extremely low voltage to begin with, if the guage interacts with this signal all kinds of problems can result (voltage induction). Mainly, if the car was running ok before the guage install, that should send up a red flag as to where the problem may be originating from.

i will try but i dont think its the cause because it was running fine for about a month and a half, i might add that the 02 senors as far as i can tell havent been changed in quite some time nor has anything else. (just got the car as a present from grandparents) and also, i have a sri on it and would think this would make it run a bit leaner no?

ok i removed the gauge and it is still rich. also the reving idle returned. one of my friends suggested maybe a bad MAP sensor?
