have a manual 1998 saturn sl. currently the only way to start it is pushing it just a bit while in neutal holding the clutch (does not work pushing it in any other gears). then i can shut it off and restart it as many times as i want until i let it set for a few minutes. then it will do the same thing. this started right after the last time i got gas but i assume thats not it since it runs perfectly once started. also it shifts fine. not sure first thing to look at

Do you mean that you are pushing the car in neutral, then while moving shifting in gear and releasing the clutch? If so its possible you have a bad starter.

not exactly. doesnt make much sense- it wont start in gear, i just push down the clutch and use my other foot to push the car a bit while its in nuetral and it starts. its the only way i have been able to get it to start, if i try putting it in gear while doing the same thing it doesnt do anything. after this it will run perfect as long as i dont shut it off for more than a few minutes

When I know everything someone please shoot me!

Many STD shift cars require clutch depressed to near floor to allow starter. May be something with that??
