Help! The serpentine belt came off of my '97 Caravan. I put it back on as per the supplied diagram and it all looks correct. The problem is that there seems to be quite a bit of slack in the belt now.I played around with the tensioner and it seems to be maxed out.Am I doing something wrong? Is there any hope for me? What do I do to get tension back in the serpentine belt?

Did the tensioner seem to have substatial pull? If not it could be the problem or the belt is too large. When possible always compare the old one with a replacement before you install it. Got burn't on a couple, T

Aloha

If you look in line you will notice the tensioner will be slightly out of line with the other pulleys( the bushings on the tensioner are worn ) -- simply replace the tensioner assy. and walah , all done , ah pau..
