silverado rear end whine

I have a 2000 silverado 2wd with a 4.8l my rear end has a whine i'm not sure how to check to see whats wrong or how to fix it yet it has a limited slip and gears installed. thanks in advance for your input

If you hear the whine mainly on decel, probably ring/pinion wear. If constant, probably bearing problem. Have seen many late ('95 up) model GMs come in with broken ring gear/pinion gears. Don't make 'em like they used to. Loren SW Washington

its only when its under load when i take my foot off the gas it stops
