my 1998 chev half ton (305) wont start when the weather is wet and damp. i replaced plug wires and the problem still persists.
i believe the problem is with the solenoid.
im told the part is less than $15. problrm is, i dont know where to look for the old one..
i would very much appreciate if someone could please point me in the right direction.

If you are talking about the starter solonoid if like all the classic Chev V8s they were on the starter motor. Chase down the pos battery cable and that's it. I did find a problem with the newer V8 on a 2000 that was the neg cable connection to the engine?? In that case nothing electric worked. That was a one year old Chev truck with no miles and full warranty but not worth towing it just to tighten a bolt (it was not registered at the time). - T
