hi i need to replace the clutch on a 1995 toyota rav4 i want to know i can remove the transmission out at home with a jack and axle stands im told yopu have to remove the engine and gearbox together as an assembly is there a way round it without needing avehicle hoist ramp which i dont have any information would be apprecieated thanks

Yup, engine has to come out with transmisson/transaxle. If 2wd, 5.7 hrs, 4wd, 13.7hrs. Be sure to replace pilot bearing, throw-out bearing, and pressure plate. If internal slave, I'd recommend that, too. Be sure to have the flywheel resurfaced regardless of how it 'looks'. You don't want to be doing this again, anytime soon. Loren SW Washington
