traction control light stays on Sign In

2003 honda accord 3.0 45,000 miles.

Traction control light would come on while driving. When restarting engine the light would reset amd stay off for a while then come back on. This does not happen all the time. On some trips it won't come on at all. Dealer says to bring it in and they will do a diagnostic test for $100. Wondering if they would be able to get an error code if the light is not on.

the mick; As long as the code has not been cleared, it should be stored in memory. Most large parts stores will retrieve codes for free. On the other hand, since I know nothing about traction control, it may be controlled by the BCM and may not be able to be accessed by a parts store?

No, it's combined with the ABS system and has it's own module that will require a professional scan tool with ABS software.
