ok, so my parents have a 1998 chrysler town and country, obviously since its a mopar we have a transmission problem. While driving home on the highway, it made a whistling noise, and a whoosh sound like air coming out. My dad pulled over and discovered that all the transmission fluid came out the tranny. It came out on the driver side right behind the wheel. Before I tear into it, I'm trying to get an idea about what went wrong, is the tranny shot or is it the seals that need replaced. If anyone has heard of this or you have an idea what it is please let me know. thanks chevyguy78

In most cases you replace the seal and hope that the trans isn't damaged, what caused the seal to go bad ? The seal itself could already been worn other than that you might be looking at a blockage in the system somewhere in the trans/lines/filter
