truck died Sign In

I parked my 1987 6 cyl Chevy S10 blazer for a couple months, so i went to drive it and for about 7 miles it was fine then all of sudden it stopped running and now it won't start. It is acting like it's not getting any gas. Changed the ignition module and the coil, everything seems to be fine, I'm a new single mom of 4 and I really need help. Please I've checked everything I can think of. Any ideas? i have checked for spark thru the ignition coil & coil wire for spark none .there is power to the ignition coil also i have connector . the tdc center has also been checked every thing falls in place Aokay
i also listened for fuel pump and and did get sound along with disconnecting fuel pressure line from tbi and got fuel to pump out alot, now i did also disconnect the return line and nothing come out ,both fuel injectors have power at the connectors but no fuel is spraying out . no spark and no fuel is being released thru the injectors how do these two issues work to together. also the on board vehicle code gives # 12 ,and when ihooked up a Obd scan reader for the codes .i got back can not retieve any co0de off the vehicle

clogged fuel filter.

faulty fuel pump

gas gauge in dash is broken and you simply ran out of gas

Start with all the basics; is there spark getting to the spark plugs; this is likely a throttle body injected motor (TBI), if so; can you see fuel spraying from the two injectors under the air breather?
Can you hear the fuel pump running (humming) at the fuel tank? You should be able to hear it for 2 or 3 seconds when the ignition is first turned to the run position; then again running continually during cranking and then for 2 or 3 seconds after the ignition is turned off.

Let us know what you find and what your abilities are towards doing these checks?

If you're trying to use an OBDII code reader it won't work on a OBDI system. A flashing code 12 tells us that you're in diagnostics. In other words the computer will flash code 12 three times and then trouble code(s). So if you're only getting a code 12 flashing the computer is not recognizing any other faults.

Maybe back-up even farther and check all the fuses?
