will not crank Sign In

1997 gmc 1500 pickup 5.7 installed used motor hooked everything up went to crank over motor nothing have lights gauges fuel pump pumps check purple wire at starter no power when turning key to start check fuses with test light all ok butt when i touched the fuse that sayes crank fuse with the key on the truck cranks over

A test light is a load devise that in some cases can energize a circuit among other unexpected & bad things due to the current flow.
The 1st thing I would do would be to try a new fuse...BTDT. (yes even if it looks good & passed the "test light test")

After that you'll have to get a wiring diagram of the circuit and you are going to have to trace out the purple trigger wire starting at the ign switch....

You had to be putting power to that fuse. That circuit is the starter relay trigger wire and will energize the relay when powered. It usually gets power from the ignition switch in start position.
