I have a problem with my 03 Ford Explorer. When I turn my heat on all the way I get a Freon Smell that comes out of the vents. Also the passenger side floor board area gets really cold like there is a hole in the firewall. Could that be part of the AC problem. Thanks

It's highly doubtful that you are smelling refrigerant gas which should be R-134a in this vehicle. Freon is a brand name of the old R-12 no longer used in anything since about 1994 when production was halted. You may be smelling anti-freeze so check the level and for any drips that don't evaporate - usually found at passenger's floor and looking up at heaterbox if it leaks. What was the problem with the A/C? It really needs to be a minimum of 60 degrees F. outdoor temp to even check that out at all, T
