I have a 1997 Ford Aerostar that has a slight leak. I tried to use some sealant to fix it, and now my temp gauge shows me running hot while driving. It starts out normally and then goes toward "hot" but comes back down within a few seconds. It never did this before the sealant was put in. The needle always stayed over the "N" in the normal range and really never moved from it. Did I gunk up the thermostat by using the sealant? Help!!

Possibly. That stuff can cause a real nightmare in you cooling system. Flush out the system and fix any leaks. It sounds like that stuff may be causing a blockage in the radiator. Hopefully the flush will solve that. would be a good idea to go ahead and change the thermostat now. Jeff
