2000 S-10 Heater Sign In

2000 Chevy S-10: vortec V-6 two-wheel drive auto. The heater doesn't blow hot air. it's more like luke warm air, and it's about to get colder outside as fall is comming. The temp guage reads normal if not just a very small mm. cooler. I've just replaced the thermostat with a 195degree. I think i've had to do this every winter cause the air temp. would seem to be cooler than normal. So this year when i did the change again it didn't make any difference in the temp. The hot/cold selecter is electric not cable operated. As i move it I can hear it move and the output air switches. But all the way hot is just barely warm. Is there any seals in the heater box that wear out to let the air bypass the heater core so it would not heat the air enough. Or is there any vacuum block off valves in the system that shut off water flow to the heater core. I've looked but haven't seen any. Thanks for the help and information. Go Canada!

Re: 2000 S-10 Heater Sign In

We are clearly into heat season for many members here. For this S-10 I would test it on low fan and if the temp is much warmer the heater core is likely part plugged up.

Try flushing it first and hit back if that doesn't help or fix it and we'll go from there, T
