I have a 2003 Chevy Impala 3.8, 100,000 miles When you accelerate the AC warms, like outside air is mixing, when you decelerate air cools to cold. Are the dampers controlled by vacuum? If so is there a vacuum pump you can add to help the old dampers work better?

No, the temp doors are electric. My best guess is the compressor is disengaging either due to a weak clutch or low refrigerant. Could even be a faulty pressure switch. AC work is not DIY friendly. It requires extensive experience and observation to catch the issue. You really need to find a competent professional to diagnose the problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
