I am currently having issues with my a/c heater fan. The fan does not change speeds when I switch from 1 - 7 on the speed selector. I can get it to change from floor to defrost etc. When I turn the climate control off completely, the fan still blows and it switches from whatever it was on to the defrost. Any ideas what may be causing this issue?

Is it a manual system or auto temp control?

There is a screen on the dash that the climate is controlled with.

Looks like this.

You gave me a picture of your radio controls. That doesn't tell me anything.

Are you able to dial in a specific temperature and the system maintains it or do you manually control the temperature and blower speeds?

Yes, you have an automatic system. That's not good news.

The blower motor is electronically controlled by the AC control head which is the unit you showed me. With the help of a professional scan tool they should be able to access stored trouble codes in the AC controller to help with diagnosis.

It's a very complex system. The wiring diagram for the AC is 4 pages long.

Yep, you at least need some professional equipment.

Faulty blower motor resistor, most likely. Try disconnecting BOTH battery terminals first, then see if the condition persists.

This vehicle doe not have a blower motor resister nor a blower control module.

As I told the poster this blower motor is controlled directly by the Control Head.

Re: 2013 Dodge Dart Limited 2.0L Sign In

Well, unless the one we released this morning, a gray, 2013 with EATC on which we replaced the blower motor resistor, discharage hose, and cabin air filter (right next to the resistor) is a special edition, IT DID HAVE A BLOWER RESISTOR MODULE, behind the passenger side console shield, exactly like the one in the picture I posted.

I am not saying that it could be something else, but had the same problems as the ones described by the owner.

Well, I don't know what you were working on but the wiring diagram for this vehicle says different.

yoursangoma,

Most ATC systems do use a Blower Control Module mounted in the blower housing although the wiring diagram for this vehicle does not show one in the circuit. I suppose you should actually look and see but I usually rely on the wiring diagram to identify everything in the circuit.

If by chance it does have one, replace it.
