I was wondering if you could let me know where the thermostat is located on a 92 nissan maxima. The car is from Nashville and is now a Minnesota car. The heater blows but it is not hot. Coolant is fine. Just thinking that the thermostat is not fit for Minnesota weather. Thanks

It's not a matter of changing the thermostat. If you have a gauge it will read the same when warmed up no matter where you are. Most thermostats are set to about 195F and the engine needs that to be correct. The thermostat is ok if it maintains the same temp for you. What might help you with better heat is flushing out the heater core and why not do the whole system at the same time. I know it's been colder earlier than usual in MN but nothing you wouldn't see anyway. Same here. It's possible that the thermostat is at fault and if you need to replace it I suggest get a proper new one from Nissan with gasket. You should find it at engine end of upper radiator hose. Stay warm till we can all complain about how hot it is, T
