A/C Constanlty clicks on and off Sign In

Hi all, I REALLY need help! I have a 1996 Dodge B3500 Ram Van. The A/C clicks on and off constantly. I have taken it to a professional repair shop. They have: Evacuated the system and recharged it, replaced the pressure switches on BOTH high and Low pressure lines. They have checked the evaporator and condenser. They have just done about everything THEY can think of, with no luck. It just keeps clicking on and off! It blows cold, but still clicks all the time.
Could it be the compressor? Air gap on compressor? They have not done anything with the compressor and say that it appears fine.ANY help or advice would be great. Someone must have some idea what is causing this!
Thanks, Jeff

Jeff: Quote you first ">It blows cold, but still clicks all the time.<"
To add to that, what is the ambient temp + what is the actual temp (on full request) at a center panel vent? If low 40sF it's doing it's thing, not much more to do.
Noisy? It's possible a clutch is noisy or a spring to make it default is weak - or some other reason unknown. Most are NOT so noisy but if quiet enough can notice them.
It easily could be happy that it's cold enough so takes a time out so it doesn't freeze up. That's a default most do if not plain hot 90s or more, low engine RPM full load on A/C they stay on.
What do you wish to do? You could ask for a new clutch IDK if available separately cost if so is close to a new compressor that's working? Next may not so AYOR or pay for whole new one.
IDK of any that are annoyingly noisy but have seen broken 1 of three springs and it still worked so bent that to be quiet was a rattle not a "snap" lasted till that whole vehicle croaked.
Your call - spend more or allow it to work since it is - it's old so how much do you want to invest now?

The very first thing you need to know is what is the suction pressure at the moment this cycles.
