Car starting to overheat

Hi, My car is starting to show signs of overheating. As long as I drive with-out running the ac the car will go a long time before the heating risies. Is it possible the antifreeze/water mix is to rich in water this allowing the temp to get to hot? Or do I have a different problem relating to my car over heating?

You should check out the extra electrical fan in front of the radiator. Sometimes a blown fuse could stop it from running or, if it breaks.

Be sure fan(s) are working. If your car uses a fan clutch and it's more than a few years old just toss it for a new one. Also, too much anti-freeze IS a problem. From my yachting days the boats requested setting the level at about -20F instead of the standard 50/50 mix as they cooled better. Watch out for the accuracy of the testers. Check them with a known concentration or a known tester - many are way off! Most OEM vehicles should be fine if all the parts are ok. If you taxing the system with a trailer or something you may want to consider bolstering the system with an extra fan as CarJunky mentioned. Good luck and keep it cool,
