Help! Help! Help! I have a Honda Civic 1995 1.6L A/T VTEC! 140K miles Problem: AC stop being Cold (cool or what ever you call it) Sounds: A/C off ---Squicking sounds every 3 secs interment, coming from left side of car, (properly from compressor) Sounds would not happen till driving after about 3 miles. A/C on --- Same sounds But engine works a little harder. When turning AC off – notice a 2 sec sound like (louder than first Wining Clicking but not to much louder) pressure releasing clanking. (like someone is hiting you in the stomach mmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhh.) What I see: No idiot lights, no over heating, A slight vibration from H and L tube from the compressor when the sounds do occur. Also important, I have a can with gauge for r134a and Low side is reading 100 psi. High side 100 psi. @ 74 F after running for 7 mins full blast (still no cooling) Passenger fan is cutting on and off I think like regular (think) Driver side Fan is ON and runing NOTE: the r134a is one of those with oil, I did use it once when it wasn’t cooling as well LAST YEAR (10 months ago) paying close attending to the pressure not to exceed the correct one. Addition info: Avg temp in summer is 80 – 90, humidity 80% - 100%, Addition Problem : Radiator is got a crack 2 inch wide across top, Car has Never run hot. Temp never goes above Half way. I have bottled water in there now and seems to use it up each day, this problem occur 1 month before any A/C problems (If they are related please tell me.) Patch or Replace? (I need to go on a trip next weekend and it is being replaced this weekend) Next step???? Costs! I do not have a lot of money to spend. I will try anything just give me pictures and detailed instructions. I am unsure about high side have no tools to test it. Also what damage will be done if I leave the A/C off (still hearing noises)? Please HELP!!! Please tell me there is an easy fix. Is it able to be DIY? Honda Civic 95 A/T EX

Arggh! Fix the radiator or get a new one. Sounds like your compressor quit - big $$$$ as you can't just replace the compressor - takes more stuff to do right. If you hear noise from it when it's off the clutch bearing is highly suspect and will leave you walking if not tended to. See if a belt for the same car that never had A/C will fit and work. A/C if compressor crashed could easily go over $1,000 bucks! With what you said if I understood it right - might be time for another car. The good news is there is a major used car glut in the U.S. because of the new car discounts. All prices should be lower now. Hey - we are here to fix up your car if you want to just that it might be a good time to cut you losses,
