Moldy smell in Tahoe

Have 2002 Tahoe. Recently had water leak inside back due to blocked A/C drain tube. Dealership replaced drain tube. Carpet has been cleaned but there is still a slight "moldy" smell when door is first opened. I don't think it's the carpet.....any suggestions?

The water produced by A/C is just the same as the moisture available in air. Carpet gets whatever your feet bring in and the duct work for MVAC will catch whatever pollen, dust, pine needles etc that can get in. They do sell specific products for deodorizing A/C stuff but the word has it that plain old Lysol is as good as any. In nasty cases I've heard of ionizing or ozonating the car to eliminate odors. Check with a used car dealer that specializes in high end used cars as they go crazy detailing cars and may have a new approach. Remember the dirt that plugged that drain came from the air that went in thru the louvres by the wipers so spray in there is helpful, T
