No Heat 1995 Sable

Hi all, and thanks for this great forum. Here's my problem: 1995 Mercury Sable wagon with a 3.0. I have a new thermostat, took the water pump off and the impellers are ok and it is circulating. No leaks in the system and I'm pretty sure I got all the air out. I have no heat and the car only runs hot sometimes. I don't understand it. The electric fan works on the radiator. When I drive the car it will get almost to the temp red line for a short time then go back down to where it usually operates, but the whole time no heat. I'm really stumped, any help will be greatly appreciated. I also don't think the heater core is plugged either, I took the out hose off and ran the car and coolant came out. Thanks a bunch, Kenny

I just got my heat working on my 1999 Taurus, see general discussions on list done. First, make sure both heater hoses going in and out of heater core are hot, if so, remove them and see if there is coolant coming out of the hoses or heater core. If not see the general discussion and the 1999 ford taurus no heat with a response for today. Good luck! Brian
