Oct 17 2022 Walmart has raised price of 134a 12 oz cans from 8.88 to 9.48 + tax (6% here) = 10.05 per can . it takes 40 cans to make a 30lb Jug = $ 402.00 with tax per Jug. Will it double again next year? 20.00

Yes it would double again as new product is restricted to be phased out making more new till gone like the original condensable refrigerants.

Price is just a normal fact when supply is short like anything else,

If you think that is bad, have you tried buying any R22 recently.

R134A is being phased out and the price will continue to climb.

R-22 is/was used for buildings a 30lb jug spiked to $2,000 smackers! That and it's used for heat pumps, A/C run backwards you get heat.

None of these are interchangeable for automotive use at any price.

Said somewhere same subject it's being phased out mandatory not to produce more 134a and going down how much made so expect a wild spike.

That's not the whole thing - fix the leak now and hope you get years before another?

Tom
