I have a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT 4 cylinder. The heater only blows cold air. Just back in the summer I had a heater core put in it. Is it possible the heater core could be clogged up already or do you think its something else ?

Not likly clogged again unless the whole system was so full of junk that didn't flush out it caught it as that would be the stopping point. If newer and clogged it should flush out and if so gat aggressive flushing the whole cooling system.

See if hoses feel about too warm to hold or if this has a heater control valve note that. Make sure it's full of coolant and if not find out why as that is a problem,

I checked the fluid level. It was only a cup low if that. I also just remembered i put a new heater valve in so it cant be that. Any other suggestions ?

I'm guessing you replaced the heater because it leaked in the Summer. Did you test then if it was able to blow heat?

Again, see if you can feel heat going to but stopping at the heater control valve. If so report back what type of device it is - all electric or electric and vacuum etc. If both hoses are warm to hot then perhaps the diverter door to blend in heat is not functioning and that could be a few things - let's hope that's not the problem.

Try some odd requests too. Heat with A/C on, just vent, recirculated air and fresh which heat should be,.......... do all those functions work and air directed to the ducts as told? That will help with what to do next,
