heater problem Sign In

2004 chevrolet colorado
when running the heater the blower motor only works on the high setting none of the other lower settings work what causes this and what will i have to do to remedy this!!!

The most common cause for that is a blower motor resistor usually located near the blower motor (top of it or near) on the distribution box the blower is in,

is this easy to get to it is usually behind fire wall right???

Forgive me for not knowing off the top of my head where it's located - either underhood on inside over passenger foot area behind where a typical glovebox would be IF the Blower is inside. Again - typical is a couple screws the wiring plug and it drops down in the case to reduce voltage for all but the HIGH fan speed,
