2011; BMW; 328i; 3.0l; 116k miles

SO... Baltimore's never ending attempt to disassemble my car by pure physical assault has struck a staggering blow. While driving in the city (infamous for its slow but steady replacement of every other 50 ft of asphalt with steel plates) I was turning left and braking at moderate speed when I hit a steel plate that was less than smoothly traversable (ok, it was easily a three to four inch jump in height in about 3 inches of road travel). First I thought the entire bottom of my car had been ripped off. But amazingly enough.....no bad noises and all seemed well. A quick inspection in the morning didn't show any problem. However over the next month or so my right front wheel started to wobble and I started experiencing a pull to the right when braking. Accelerating is fine. Stopping is a bit scary. Hard braking causes a hard but short pull to the right. Moderate breaking causes a moderate pull to the right and often a wobble feel in the steering and a wobble noise from the right front. Light braking produces a light pull to the right and the same wobble and noise.

Am I correct in assuming these:
1: Baltimore sucks! (Well the roads do)
2: I have a tie rod problem.

Greatly appreciate your time and experience.

OK, you can stop with the political nonsense. This is an automotive forum.

It sounds like you have a problem with a frozen caliper or possible blocked flex line. I doubt this had anything to do with the previous impact. Have a competent repair shop inspect the brake system.

I live w this horror, locally other roads fine. My choice to use that one or not there are choices.

You've waited too long IMO a real damage issue that would harm steering should have shown right up - IMO again. It's yours now get it checked out now you know it needs repair,
Tom
