97 Jimmy Inner tire wear

My 97 Jimmy 200,000 miles has inner tire wear on the right front tire. I checked the ball joints by putting a floor jack under the lower control arm and did not notice any play in the ball joints. I'm not sure how to check the lower control arm bushings. This truck uses a torsion bar instead of a spring. There is also a vibration on that side of the truck. I had someone tell me that worn shocks would cause inner tire wear like this. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this. Thanks, Mike

Shocks don't cause premature inboard thread wear. Worn shocks would cause cupping or scalloping. Inboard wear is a camber issue. 200 K miles and being a 97 wonder what the upper a frame bushings look like? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

If I put a jack under the lower control arm and lift the vehicle would I be able to see the play in the bushings or would I have to unload the torsion bar that goes to the lower control arm? Any suggestions on checking this? Thanks, Mike

If you jack up the wheel by the lower control arm, you can check for play in the upper a arm. The lower you can check for play with the vehicle on the ground and a pry bar to pry on the lower bushings to check for play.
