Lower Control Arm Replacement

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus with a bent lower control arm. Someone hooked onto it by accident while it was stuck and being pulled out and now it is bent. Replacing it seems easy and cheap but I was wondering if after I've replaced the control arm, if my alignment would still be off. I've had mixed answers to this question and want to know before I buy the part if I'm still going to have to take it in for an alignment. Thanks for any info!

Nobody really knows the answer to that.
In theory, no, replacing to bent arm will put it back to where it was but you have no idea if any other settings were disturbed. Cars go out of alignment just through normal driving and realigning a car is supposed to be part of normal maintenance anyway. I would definitely recommend aligning the car when finished. Don't be surprised if he finds other things that need to be replaced also.
