Power Steering Question

Hi, I hope someone can help me as my money is tight right now and can’t afford to be changing the wrong part or parts. I have a 1991 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder, automatic transmission, with 120.457 miles. In the morning when I start up the car cold there is a horrible moaning and groaning noise coming from the steering, and the steering wheel is impossible to turn. As the car warms up the moaning and groaning noise stops, and the wheel returns to normal and is easy to turn. What test should I do to determine if this horrible moaning and groaning noise (and the difficulty turning the wheel) is coming from the Power Steering Rack and Pinion or the Power Steering Pump? Thank You

You would have to do some pressure testing to determine that. You might try having the fluid flushed first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
