I have a 1979 k5 blazer with a automatic trans. I just took it out to put fly wheel in and put it all back together but now when you put it in gear it seems to make a grinding sound in the transfer case it's a new trans. New transfer case, all the fluids are right and topped off nothing's out of line it drives and shifts but still makes grinding noise and I cannot figure it out need some suggestions please.

? Is the only reason you were there this time for the flywheel perhaps missing teeth from a starter problem? If so, sounds like the starter drive is still a problem? Just a guess for the day,

Maybe the new or rebuilt transfer case wasn't put together right. Looks like time for tear down and inspection or take it back if it is under warranty.
