I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 L 4 speed 175000 mi approx. My problem is when its cold outside I start my car shift to drive and go nowhere but after 5-10 min when the car is warm then it will shift and go. Like I said tho only when its cold out in the summer no problems. Fluid has been changed along with the filter. There is a small leak in one of the hoses that go to the bottom of the radiator. But I do check fluid level and add when needed. Is it done for or can it be fixed.

If this trans is original at 173k you've done well already. Fluid change could have only helped but apparently didn't solve it. Make sure it's properly filled when warm. Sounds almost like it could still be low and if VERY cold that might be the issue alone. If properly filled I might try some snake oil like a LITTLE of the product Trans-X which is a solvent for sticky trans parts. There's little to no magic in a bottle tricks for real repairs but this may just help it thru the cold season and more. Like I said - just a little. These snake oil makers love to sell product and if a little won't do then lots may just hurt, T
