I have a 1995 Ford Ranger 2wd 2.3L eng. manal Trans. This may sound stuiped but oh well! My saive clyinder went out and i,m replacing it . I have to pull the trans. But I can't get the gear shifter off the trans. .The manal said to remove retainer bolt and the shifter would pull off. Well i removed the retainer nut from retainer stud and pulled but it won't come off. There is no bolt , just a treaded stud with a nut. I,ve tried to remove stud but it does'nt seem to want to come off. I need help

On all Ford Trucks with this style shifter. Remove the nut from the right side and install it on the left and tighten it down. As you tighten it, it will pull it's self out. It is wedged in there. When installing the shifter. Put the shifter lever on, install the bolt with the flat side toward the shaft on the trans and put the nut on the right side and pull it in untill it locks the shifter. If you are using OEM Ford parts you will not have to bleed the system. Unless the clutch master cyclinder is dry. They are pre-bled. I don't know about aftermarket. If you do have to bleed it. Do it from the end of the line before you hook it back up. This will keep unwanted air out of the slave. The line has a check valve in the end just push it in with something. It's very simalar to bleeding brakes.
