The car was driving fine until yesterday when I was putting it into reverse the gear stick seemed very stiff to move but with a little effort i managed to get it done then i shifted into drive and the car would not move. I turned off the engine to restart it and it would no longer turn over for me. A few guys came to my rescue and check under the hood to see if it was the battery which it was not (battery is only 3 months old). They then asked me to try to start it up in neutral same thing...nothing. Then they told me to turn the key in the ignition and to put the car into drive and then to throw it into park really hard after doing so it then started up no problems. Unfortunatley today I am no better off and the car will not turn over at all. Any ideas as to what is wrong and what can be done to fix this??? Thanking you in advance

It sounds like the neutral switch on the trans could be bad
