I have a 2000 S-10 Blazer, auto trans, 4.3L, push button transfer case. It will not shift into 4WD. When starting up, and driving in 2WD, the "service 4WD" light will come on after driving 1-2 miles. It will intermittently go off while driving sometimes. If I try to push any of the 4WD buttons, nothing happens. Then...a new symptom occurred tonight. When I cranked the car up, ALL the pushbutton lights for the t-case were on, even the neutral light. When I drove it down the road, I noticed the transmission wasn't shifting right. It felt like it was shifting from 1st straight to OD. I could go through the gears manually, and it shifted OK. I parked it, shut it off, then re-started, and those symptoms went away. This is my daughters car, and as far as I know, this is the only time it's done this. It is now back to the original symptoms detailed above.

You need to take it to a shop that has an enhanced scan tool that can interface the transfer case control module to see what code(s) it is storing. The code(s) may give you direction. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
