I have a 2001 Venture WB edition. When I bought it it had about 65000 miles on it and after 3 days it started shifting really hard so I took it back to the dealership and they said the tranny was going out. So they paid to have it rebuilt. Well now it has been a year and about 15000 miles on it, and about 3 months ago it started to shift kinda rough again. Not nearly what it was before, but rough none the less. I can not figure out why it is doing this, and the dealership wants $150 just to look so I figured I would come here first. Please help!

How long was the warranty on the rebuilt? AAMOCO has a deal with autozone, if you take it there and tell that your a regular costumer of autozone they will check out for free.....have them write a paper on the trouble then if its a defect problem not wear & tear, summit the findings to the dealership, that should helpUnsure

To add

The dealership repairs are usually 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first...

First of all....let me scold you....it started happening 3 months ago and you didn't take it in then..maybe still had a warranty situation...who knows depends on what the failure is like Dave stated..

Gm also has whats known as "SRTA" replacement transmissions ,re-manufactured units from GM that have a better warranty....Are you sure you didn't purchase /get this instead of a rebuild?
Its usually in the best interest of the customer (cost effective) to replace the unit rather than rebuild it if there is extensive damage...
Check with the Service manager...see if they will at least give you some consideration on the diagnostics....then proceed from there based on the findings....
