I have a 2004 Buick Lesabre with 125,000 miles with a bad automatic transmission (it stopped moving on I-95 and now will go about 100 feet at a time after starting; fluid levels are fine; but not ofiicially checked out at repair shop). My wife thinks repairing it makes no sense, that the transmission is the start of everything going wrong. I think it runs pretty well (transmission aside) and would consider repairing it if it wasn't cost prohibitive. Is there a way to diagnose whether the car is on its last legs or has life left? I know there is no guarante, but I don't want to spend lots of money and have something else break down (and hear about it from my wife - lol) Thanks. Pete

All you need to do is have the car inspected and let a tech tell you what condition the rest of the car is in . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
