We have a trans tech and expect him to drop by. I say used is used an always AYOR and highly important that it be an exact match or you could waste a ton of time to plain swap out. What did the quote state it involved? Some trans problems are so bad you get a used one to redo so can add up. What's wrong with yours now? T

If you need step by step instructions to change the transmission, you really shouldn't be doing this. You can get service info from AlldataDIY but don't expect too much detail. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The core of your question was what's involved in changing one out and appears extensive. Still asking you if it really has a transmission problem at all or what? You took it somewhere so what did they say other than a price you didn't like? T

He Said It Has Internal Damage So w.e That Means I'm Sure It Does Been Sloping A While , But My Main Question Is do I Have To Drop The Engine Or Anything I'm Not Capable Of Doing , ? Also setting The Torque Converter would I Have To Re Program The Tcm?

Kind of a big job for a novice. The engine has to be supported with an adapter. Better review the service procedure from the link HT provided for you to decide if this is something you can do. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

He Didn't Go Into details About The Trans He Just Said Internal Damage, What Its Doing Is, It Won't Go Into Gear Reverse Dive Low gear Nothing, It Did Go Into Drive And Reverse But Only For About thirty Second Then Like Slipped Back Out? I'm A Diy Guy So Not Worried About A Challenge. Where is Thus Adapter Or Where Can I Get One? Also Where Would It Go? I'm From Syracuse NY Where Are You Located With Your shop?

Hello, Well, if this works ok cold but slips and bangs when hot, its possible you may need a valvebody and not a rebuild. How many miles

Trans type is called TF-81SC, this is a front wheel/all wheel drive trans, this trans has a side cover, behind the side cover is where the valvebody lives. No bottom pan on this trans. This is very involved to change this valvebody, if not familar i wouldnt attempt it. Gary You can google the trans type to view pictures to see what it looks like
