2011 Durango Trans Shifting issue Sign In

Hey Everyone, I have a 2011 Dodge Durango HEMI Auto and it is having an issue that I need help with.

Once or twice a trip, mostly when cold, when my Durango goes to shift from 1st to 2nd it seems as though it gets stuck in neutral and the rpms shoot way up and then, most of the time, the tranny with slam into 2nd gear. Rpms were so high one time that all 4 tires chirped when it shifted. My wife has had it not shift into 2nd at all and be stuck in "neutral" and she would have to coast to the side of the road and restart the truck. A bunch of warning lights came on but NONE of the lights stayed lit. No check engine light or anything. The engine is not throwing any codes so it is impossible to diagnose the issue unless someone has heard of this before or has had it happen to themselves.

Really in a bind here and could desperately use some guidance. We can not afford to throw money at different areas hoping it will fix the problem. Already did that once and it failed to the tune of $350.

Anyone at all help us out?

Thanks for your time.

Cheers,
EhWrad.

Re: 2011 Durango Trans Shifting issue Sign In

lets start simple and work from there...
Check fluid - use the correct fluid if needed.
Scan for codes - even if light is off... If a light came on there is a code.
Any modifications, added devices, ANYTHING not stock.
After above checked - this is a 4 wd? there is a TSB* for a issue with 2-3 shift. see your friendly dodge dealer basically a reflash.

TSB # 21-006-13 and maybe #14E004000
